An Anothcyanin pigment are referenced as fugitive, meaning the colour will escape easily and change over time. Care therefore is required in preparing fabrics or yarn to prevent rapid loss of colour. Gentle handling to maintain colour, to extend longevity of colour. e.g. wash in ph neutral soap, do not leave items in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Applicable for both protein and cellulose fibres.
For pot dyeing steep flowers and simmer on a low heat, remove before immersing dyeable. Colour will also alter depending on choice of mordant and ph.
