These robust "Kushi" Marigolds originate from India, where in ceremony they represent of the sun, purity, strength and rebirth often seen strung as garlands to adorn temples and worn by wedding party guest. In direct translation "Kushi" means happiness, or joy, and how much joy they have brought over the years.
Producing remarkably large blooms, the size of grapefruits, with dense layers of filled petals, rich with flavonoid sunshine yellow, which can be used as an over dye for indigo to obtain a solid vibrant green
When dyeing with marigold a pre mordant is required, to fix colour and ensure bright fresh clean vibrant shades can be found here
